Information about Cryptomeria japonica

Japanese Cedar is somewhat similar to North American Taxodium (Cypress) and Sequoia (Redwood). The wood has a very aromatic odor and is absent of resin ducts. We deliver both knot-free wood and with small number of knots.

Sugi trees grow up to 70 m and have trunk diameters of up to 4 m.

Sapwood: pale, yellowish-white color, 2 to 5 cm thick, very distinct from heartwood.

Heartwood: pinkish or brownish, 2–4 mm rings.

Grain: straight
